When onboarding a new coaching client, setting clear communication expectations is crucial. I believe in digging deep and getting vulnerable to provide valuable insights.

Part of this process involves acknowledging the possibility of unintentionally causing offense. My goal is to offer an external perspective, even if it comes across as criticism.

Asking clarifying questions is a powerful tool to uncover blind spots. By avoiding assumptions and biases, I help clients see issues they might have missed.

Recently, I assisted a business owner struggling with an employee's performance. Instead of being blunt, I focused on asking questions that revealed the root cause – the employee's mismatched role within the organization.

Through this approach, the business owner gained clarity, recognized their part in the situation, and implemented necessary changes.

It's a testament to the impact of seeking an outside perspective and asking the right questions to unearth hidden issues.

How do you uncover blind spots?
