Outcomes Take Intention

Did you ever feel like:
▶ You’re working too much
▶ You’re not working enough
▶ I should be working smarter not harder
Yikes! Another weekend in front of my laptop…I should be (doing something else)...
This started to happen to me this weekend.
I was sitting out on my deck doing some writing and catching up on some things…and I started questioning why I was there and not out on my bike?
Whenever this happens, I go back to checking in on my motives and ask two things:
▶ What is the outcome I’m looking for?
▶ Is there anything I’m ignoring or avoiding that are critically important to me?
Family, friends and self care.
In this case, for me, the outcome is:
I’m heading to EO Nerve in Atlanta to spend the week with a group of Entrepreneurs and I want to be fully present. I’m very excited about that.
Family, friends and selfcare:
▶ I worked out for 90m
▶ I meditated for 30m
▶ Spent time with my wife and son in this morning
▶ Have a family call with my siblings this afternoon
▶ Going out to dinner and more time with my wife this evening
This 5 minute exercise of checking in with myself, changed my attitude, eliminated the noise and got me back to gratitude, peace and focus.
Next time you find yourself in one of these thought patterns, check in on your motives.
What’s the outcome you’re looking for and see if there is something that needs to be adjusted…
It may just be your perspective.
